HYDERABAD: Condemning the foul and unparliamentary language used by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against the former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) never signed a paper that went against the interest of the people of Telangana.

“Arrogance, foul language, blatant lies, and half-truths encapsulate Revanth Reddy’s press conference on Sunday at the State Secretariat. In the morning he says he would mind his language at the Padma awardees meeting and by the afternoon he attacks KCR in the worst possible way,” Harish Rao observed.

Harish Rao clarified that KCR refused to hand over the management of projects to KRMB during the past ten years and the Congress Government gave away management to KRMB within days after coming into power. “There were two KRMB meetings and as per the minutes you (Congress Govt) agreed to hand over the projects within a month. Accordingly, we need CRPF’s permission to enter the project site,” he pointed out. He said that minutes also showed that both the States would have a stake in the projects.

Recalling that the Chief Minister had reacted only after the BRS condemned the act of the Government Harish Rao said that the minutes of the February 1, 2024 meeting of the KRMB, also showed that there was a discussion on salaries to be paid to KRMB staff.

“Both the Engineers in Chief agreed in front of the media that they have agreed to hand over projects to the KRMB. The thing that we refused to do in ten years, Revanth Reddy just did it in two months. Neither during the 16th nor 17th KRMB meetings, Telangana did not agree to hand over projects as mentioned by Revanth Reddy, Harish said adding that the CM was lying to the core by saying that KCR signed the papers.

Harish Rao said that the Chief Minister was also lying about the expansion of the Pothireddypadu head regulator. “When that said GO was released we were partners with the Congress Government. We fought for 40 days against it in the Assembly. We quit our posts on July 4, 2005, and the GO came on September 13, 2005,” he said.

The former Irrigation Minister recalled that P Janardhanaa Reddy was the only Congress leader who fought hand in hand with the BRS against the GO in the Assembly. How can KCR sign the papers when he didn’t attend the meeting, he questioned Revanth Reddy. He said that KCR opposed to Pothireddypadu and Rayalaseema lift during the second apex committee meeting.

Announcing BRS’s willingness to be a part of the all-party delegation to be taken to New Delhi, Harish Rao dares the CM to come well-prepared to the Assembly for a debate on the handing over of projects and share of Telangana in Krishna waters.
