HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao has pledged to continue the fight for SC, ST, BC, and minority candidates affected by the Group-1 recruitment process.

Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said the BRS would challenge GOs 29 and 46 in the High Court and prove their unconstitutionality.

KTR highlighted that BRS leaders RS Praveen Kumar and Dasoju Sravan, along with ten Group-1 candidates, filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal represented them, and while the Supreme Court did not dismiss the petition, it ruled that the exam results should not be announced until the High Court delivers its decision. The Supreme Court also urged the High Court to expedite the case.

KTR reiterated that since June and July, the BRS had been demanding justice for SC, ST, BC, and minority candidates. The party introduced GO 55 under CM K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership to ensure opportunities for reserved category candidates even in the open quota. However, KTR accused the Congress government of creating confusion by conducting exams amidst legal disputes.

"GO 29 is unconstitutional," KTR stated, criticising the government for disregarding the issue and mistreating the weaker sections. He pointed out that 30,000 candidates are competing for 563 posts, and the government showed no empathy by refusing even a slight postponement of the exams.

KTR assured that the BRS will fight for the interests of all affected candidates, including those under GO 46, and promised to bring top legal representation to the case in the High Court. He expressed confidence that they would prove the government’s decision wrong in court.

KTR noted that it was the unemployed youth who brought Congress to power, but now they are being betrayed by the very government through GOs like 29. He affirmed that the BRS would continue to fight for justice until the end.
