VEMULAWADA: An elderly woman and her grandson were drowned to death after their car was washed away in a fiercely flowing canal in Fazul Nagar village of Vemulawada mandal in Telangana on Sunday.

The driver, Md Rizwan and Naresh from Cheglan of Jagityal were pulled out safely. The incident happened when they were travelling from Jagityal to Hyderabad.

As per reports, Ganga (50) hailed from Cheglan village of Jagityal district. On Sunday, she was proceeding to Hyderabad to drop off her two-year-old grandson Kittu at her daughter's house in the city.

The car got stuck in a stream that was furiously flowing at Fazul Nagar in Vemulawada mandal. taking the lives of Ganga and Kittu.

The police pulled out the car with the help of a JCB and retrieved the bodies.
