Chikoti Praveen booked for taking out rally in communally-tense Gajwel

GAJWEL: The Gajwel police registered a case against Chikoti Praveen for holding a rally in the town on Tuesday. The casino organiser attracted police action after he tried to take out a rally in the aftermath of the communal clashes that erupted in Gajwel on Tuesday. Trouble brokes out in Gajwel after a youth belonging to a particular community allegedly desecrated a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

In the wake of communal clashes, the police have intensified security in the Gajwel town and deployed the forces in huge numbers to prevent untoward incidents and arrested as many as 11 persons for their alleged involvement in the communal clashes. The accused were later remanded in judicial custody for 14 days..

The Siddipet Commissioner of Police warned with strict action if anyone resorts to spreading fake news on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao was also arrested while he was on his way to Siddipet to meet the people injured in the communal clashes.
