HYDERABAD: Two tragic incidents that happened miles apart displayed the unflinching bond that fathers and sons share even in death. While a grief-stricken father died by suicide following his son’s death another one died in a road accident along with his young son.
In Samela village of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Vasake Bheem Rao a farmer died by suicide unable to bear the pain of his son Tulasiram ’s death in a road accident. Bheem Rao consumed pesticide after learning that his son died on the spot when his scooter came under the wheels of a speeding truck near Jaithpur crossroad in Wankidi mandal on Thursday. Bheem Rao who was in Samela village in the same mandal was rushed to a hospital in Asifabad, where he breathed his last. Police said that Tulasiram was engaged to a local girl on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the family members staged a dharna demanding action against the driver of the truck and demanded compensation of Rs 30 lakh. Police registered a hit-and-run case and a manhunt was launched to nab the absconding truck driver.
In another incident near Singareni Collieries general manager’s office in the Srirampur area of the Mancherial district, a father and son died on the spot and the mother was injured when the scooter they were riding was hit by a tractor. Darshanala Ramesh and his son 12-year-old Surya Teja came under the wheels of the tractor. The family belonged to Shankarpalli village of Mandamarri mandal.
