CM Revanth offers first prayers to Khairatabad Ganesh
For the first time, a 70-foot clay idol of Sapthamukha Mahashakti Ganapathi has been installed.
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy offered the first prayers at the grand Khairatabad Ganesh, where a 70-foot-tall Sapthamukha Mahashakti Ganapathi clay idol was installed for the first time.
The Ganesh idol, standing 28 feet wide, was accompanied by statues of Ayodhya Sree Balaram, Rahu, Ketu, as well as Sree Lakshmi Srinivas and Parvati Parameshwara, captivating devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy lauded the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav, which had been a major attraction for the past 70 years. He said the festival was a matter of pride for Telangana and promoted peace, religious harmony, and prosperity in the state through its devotional conduct.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s support for the festival, revealing that 1.40 lakh Ganesh idols had been installed across Hyderabad, with free electricity provided for pandals. He acknowledged the recent challenges posed by untimely rains and floods but noted that the state had managed to minimise damage.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy performed Ganesh puja at his residence in Jubilee Hills, accompanied by his family. Newly appointed Telangana PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and his wife also took part in the ceremony.
