CM Revanth reviews RRR alignment, orders fast-tracking of land acquisition for radial roads
The Chief Minister held a review meeting to discuss RRR alignment, radial roads, and the greenfield road connecting the dry port to the sea ports.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasised that the alignment of the Southern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) should benefit the state.
He instructed that the alignment should ensure access to educational, medical, and other facilities for industries and employees in the upcoming Fourth City.
The Chief Minister held an extensive review meeting on Wednesday evening at his Jubilee Hills residence. The meeting discussed the alignment of the RRR Southern section, the construction of radial roads, and the greenfield road connecting the dry port to the seaports.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the modifications made to the RRR Southern section alignment, as suggested in the previous week's review. Noting some discrepancies, he directed further changes to the alignment and instructed that the finalised plan be implemented promptly.
Revanth Reddy also reviewed the progress of the proposed radial roads from ORR to RRR, urging for expedited land acquisition. He emphasised the need for a humane approach during land acquisition, advising officials to compensate displaced persons generously and provide additional government assistance where possible.
The Chief Minister directed officials to consider the distance between the Machilipatnam and Kakinada ports and evaluate the Andhra Pradesh government's preferred route for the dry port's construction. He stressed the importance of safeguarding Telangana's interests in this regard and ordered a study before finalising the greenfield highway design.
Revanth Reddy suggested developing night safaris in three forest areas along the road from Raviryal to Amangal, located between ORR and RRR. Highlighting the proximity to the international airport, city, and forest areas, he pointed out the unique opportunity this presents. The Chief Minister cited the Jindal Nature Cure in Bengaluru as an example and mentioned that industries in the Fourth City could be connected with these forest areas, similar to how Apple operates within an orchard in the US. He also discussed the potential for Rachakonda's natural beauty to attract the film industry.
The Chief Minister urged all departments involved in land acquisition for RRR, radial roads, and industrial setups in the Fourth City to work collaboratively. He stressed that results should be the focus and warned of strict action if progress is not visible in subsequent reviews.
State ministers, advisors, and senior officials, including R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, CM's Advisors Ven Narendra Reddy and Srinivas Raju, and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, attended the meeting.
