HYDERABAD: Domestic oil marketing companies have once again shocked LPG consumers by increasing the price of commercial LPG cylinders. As announced by the oil companies on Tuesday morning, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has been increased by Rs 48.50. The revised prices are effective from October 1.

Following the price hike, the cost of a commercial LPG cylinder (19 kg) in Hyderabad has increased to Rs 1,967. The price rose to Rs 1,740 in Delhi, Rs 1,850.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1,692.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,903 in Chennai. The final prices vary across states depending on local taxes. This marks the third consecutive monthly hike, following similar increases in September and August.

However, oil companies clarified that there has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders used in households, which will continue at the previous rates. The companies revise prices on the first of every month, and this month is no exception, with changes announced for commercial LPG while domestic rates remain stable.
