MANCHERIAL: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao has lashed out against the Congress stating that making fake promises, distributing cash bags and creating communal tensions is part of the party's culture.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone to Padthanpalli Lift Irrigation Scheme and a 33/11 kv power substation at Donabanda village in Hajipur mandal on Saturday, Harish said that the Congress was daydreaming about winning the mandate of the public by distributing money brought in from Karnataka. He added that communal violence and curfews would become the order of the day if the Congress was voted back to power.

The Minister exuded confidence that the BRS would be able to form the Government for the third time in a row.

"Certain opposition party leaders are trying to spoil the tranquility of Mancherial by wooing the public with baits. A leader who ran a gambling club and looted several banks in Hyderabad is now eying the constituency," Harish said, cautioning voters against such people and asked them to elect BRS nominee N Diwakar Rao, who is known for being accessible round the clock.

Reacting to the BJP president JP Nadda's criticism of the BRS Government a day before in Hyderabad, Harish said that Nadda could not save his party from failure in the elections in Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. "What would he do in Telangana," he asked. Stating that the BJP would not get a single seat in Telangana, he asked Nadda to form a committee to save deposits of BJP nominees.

The irrigation scheme, which can lift 1 TMC of water, is envisaged to irrigate agriculture fields in 16 villages of Hajipur and two villages of Luxettipet mandal, spending Rs 80.50 crore. The estimated cost of the power sub-station is Rs 3 crore.
