HYDERABAD: Hours after being detained by the Telangana police, Revanth Reddy has accused the BRS Government and the BJP of bribing voters and distributing liquor to woo voters and win elections.

Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said, "KCR, KTR and Harish Rao are repeatedly accusing the Congress of trying to win elections by distributing money and liquor. But in Huzurabad and Munugodu by-elections, the BJP and the BRS competed against each other in distributing hundreds of crores and liquor to voters to win.

"In the previous by-election, Rs 60 crore worth liquor and Rs 300 crore of cash was distributed within 30 days. While the Congress did not distribute even a drop of liquor or bribe voters, analysts say that Huzurabad and Munugode were the most expensive elections in the country," he alleged.

Questioning why he was stopped from taking oath at the Martyrs Memorial, Revanth said, "I had challenged KCR, who accused us of distributing liquor and money, to come and take oath at the Martyrs Memorial. By saying that I didn't take prior permission, the police detained me before I went to Gun Park. As KCR did not accept the challenge, it is clear that he believes in distributing money and alcohol to win over voters."

We will talk to women and find out their problems. On the second day the yatra will be in held in Karimnagar district followed by Nizamabad district on the third day."
