Congress govt could not get even one junior college in Vikarabad: KTR

VIKARABAD: Vikarabad district could not get even one junior college during the Congress regime and they are asking for another chance despite getting 11 chances, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said on Thursday.

KTR urged people to recall and compare the development in Vikarabad before and after 2014 while organising a roadshow across the district on Thursday. "Congress ruled undivided Andhra Pradesh before 2014 and we all know how the situation was under the Congress regime as they could not provide even three to four hours of electricity then," he said.

KTR said, "There have been numerous incidents of motors burning, transformers exploding and many farmers abandoning their wives and children under the Congress regime, but the Congress claims that they are unable to see the 24-hour electricity provided by the KCR Government in Telangana."

KTR rubbished the statement of TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy who said a three-hour power supply was sufficient for the farmers in Telangana to irrigate an acre of land if they could run a 10 hp pump set. KTR ridiculed the Congress leaders for their lack of knowledge on farming and asked people if they wanted current or Congress.

The state was deprived of water under the Congress regime. KTR said that the public representatives in the Congress government feared going into villages as people protested for water with empty pots on roads. Despite being given 11 chances, the Congress party failed to work for the welfare of the people, he added.

The Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift project, which had been put on hold due to COVID-19, is also nearing completion. Congress leaders obstructed the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme's construction by filing various petitions in courts and the NGT to obtain stay orders to halt project work. "Despite the numerous obstacles they create, we will ensure adequate drinking and irrigation water supply to Vikarabad and Parigi constituencies, " he added.

KTR said that Chief Minister KCR is the only leader in independent India who introduced Rythu Bandhu, a farmers' investment support scheme.

He added that 70 lakh farmers were receiving Rythu Bandhu money, 46 lakh people were receiving Rs. 2000 pension, 15 lakh women received KCR kits, 14 lakh women received Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme in the State. “No other leader loves farmers and works for their welfare like Chief Minister KCR does,” he said.

KTR said that the minorities were still living in poverty because Congress just used them for their benefit and saw them as a vote bank. He added that Chief Minister KCR worked for the welfare of the minorities by setting up educational institutions, giving scholarships, allotting the highest minority budget, and introducing schemes that uplifted the minority communities.

Highlighting the BRS party’s manifesto, KTR said - a monthly pension of Rs. 3,000 per eligible woman under Saubhagya Laxmi scheme, increase in Asara pension money to Rs. 5,000, superfine rice supply to all ration card holders under Telangana Annapurna scheme, Life insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs to over 93 lakhs below poverty line (BPL) families on the lines of Rythu Bima being implemented to farmers, gas cylinder for Rs. 400.

KTR appealed to the people to support Methuku Anand in Vikarabad and vote for BRS in the coming elections.
