Congress MLA Vemula Veeresham feels tap per ward better than water to all houses
The observations he made about the BRS flagship programme, Mission Bhagiratha, were surprising and also a tad hilarious.
HYDERABAD: Congress MLA from Nakrekal Vemula Veeresham made shocking observation that takes everyone by surprise.
The legislator initiated discussion on the motion of thanksgiving to the Governor’s address in the Assembly.
Launching a tirade against the erstwhile Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government, he went on raising a pointer at everything that was done in the previous regime. Ironically, he conveniently forgot the fact that he was also part of the BRS until 2023.
The observations he made about the BRS flagship programme, Mission Bhagiratha, were surprising.
Whether it was a slip of tongue or intentional could not be gauged immediately. But, surely he wanted to castigate his alma mater BRS and hence the remarks. They were indeed intentional.
Well, what did he say?
“Drinking water supply used to be perfect when there were no water connections to every household but just one or two tap connections per ward in villages. Now, every household has a water connection and people are now facing hardship.”
This defies logic and this made the people watching the proceedings of the Assembly jaw-dropped.
