JAGTIAL: Maru Gangareddy (53), a close aide of Congress MLC Jeevan Reddy, was brutally murdered near the outskirts of Jabitapur in Jagtial district. According to local sources, unidentified individuals hit him with a car and then stabbed him to death.

MLC Jeevan Reddy staged a protest demanding the arrest and strict punishment of the culprits. He expressed outrage over the law and order situation in the state, questioning whether there was any proper governance. He further criticised the police, stating that despite warnings about threats to Gangareddy's life, no action was taken.

Jeevan Reddy alleged that despite the Congress party ruling the state, Congress leaders themselves were unsafe in Telangana. He questioned the police's failure to arrest a known rowdy sheeter allegedly involved in the crime despite having 20 cases against him.

In a heated conversation with the DSP, Jeevan Reddy criticised the handling of security, questioning if there was any real law and order left in the state. He sarcastically remarked to Government Whip Adluri Laxman, "Bless you and your Congress party, at least allow us to live."

Jeevan Reddy also hinted at leaving politics, stating he might start a voluntary organisation to serve the public instead. He claimed that Congress leaders were being targeted, with many defecting to the BRS party.

In response to the murder, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud called Jeevan Reddy, during which Jeevan Reddy expressed frustration, questioning why he should remain in the party if it led to such violence. In a moment of anger, Jeevan Reddy reportedly threw his phone aside during the conversation.
