BELLAMPALLI: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao on Monday appealed to the Telangana people to elect K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) as the chief minister for the third time to ensure the all-round welfare of the state and its people. He asked the electorate to be wary of the gimmicks of both the Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which, he claimed, had fallen flat in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the country.

The Telangana Minister for IT, Urban Development, Municipal Administration and Industries laid foundation stones for a slew of development works besides inaugurating Mission Bhageeradha scheme in Mancherial and Bellampalli. Later, addressing a public meeting in Bellampalli, KTR trained his guns against both the Congress and the BJP for their failure to address the core problems of Telangana when they were in power.

“Congress leaders, especially Revanth Reddy (TPCC chief), are singing a new tune, seeking one more chance to hold power in Telangana. The grand-old party ruled the country for about 55 years since India’s Independence. KCR was able to implement a host of welfare and development initiatives to mitigate the drinking water and electricity crisis which they (the Congress party) failed to address in Telangana. Are they deserving of another chance? People should think wisely and not get swayed by their misinformation campaign,” KTR said.

The BRS Working President also ridiculed the Congress leaders for finding fault with KCR’s governance and said that it only exposed their double standards, after putting the Telangana region through oppression when they ruled the undivided Andhra Pradesh.

KTR was equally critical of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre and the BJP leaders in Telangana. “In 2014, Narendra Modi promised every Indian Rs 15 lakh each through Jan Dhan scheme. Has anyone received it so far? He also promised to create two-crore jobs every year. At this rate, his NDA government should have opened up 19-crore new jobs in the country. Had Modi really fulfilled his promise, then his party leaders in Telangana would not be taking up marches of the unemployed, which shows the shallowness of their promises. Isn’t this betrayal of the youths of the country and Telangana?,” he asked.

The BRS Working President also rebuked BJP Telangana chief Bandi Sanjay for equating Modi with God. “I’m not sure if Bandi Sanjay is in the right frame of mind. Is Modi a God to him for backtracking on his Jan Dhan and two-crore-jobs-a-year promises? Or for jacking up cooking gas cylinder price to Rs 1200 from Rs 400 during Manmohan Singh’s regime? Or for keeping petrol and diesel prices at their highest at Rs 120 as against Rs 70 at the beginning of the NDA rule? Narendra Modi is a God, only for Adani, his friend. He is the only person who is benefitting at the expense of the country under this prime minister,” KTR said.

Questioning the commitment of Modi, he challenged the Prime Minister to sanction a medical college to Bellampalli and also announce Rs 10,000 per every acre of the farmers just like it was being implemented under Rythu Bandhu in Telangana. In this context, KTR appealed to the people to not let go off good leadership, which is being provided by KCR and asked the electorate to elect the BRS chief as the chief minister for the third time to keep the wheel of welfare and development moving in the state.

Amazed to see IT companies flourishing in Bellampalli

The BRS Working President heaped praises on local MLA Durgam Chinnaiah and credited him with the sanctioning of 7,000 house site pattas for Bellampalli. Claiming that it did not happen anywhere else in the state, KTR said that it was made possible due to the relentless efforts of the local MLA.

The Minister also narrated how Chinnaiah braved administrative hassles and persuaded the chief minister to translate the dream of Mission Bhageeratha in Bellampalli into a reality today. In an interesting anecdote, KTR said that he did not believe initially when he was told about two IT firms running successfully in Bellampalli. “But, after personally visiting the two firms, Sanathana Analytics and Value Pitch, which are providing employment to 100 and 200 locals respectively, I’m truly amazed by their success stories. I’m confident that many more companies would follow in their footsteps to set their shops here,” he said.

The Minister also promised to add muscle to the skill development centre, for which he laid the foundation stone here on Monday, to enable further growth of IT in the region.
