Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat: KCR to sign first file on podu lands

After offering the ‘purnahuthi’ between 1:20 pm and 1:32 pm, KCR will unveil a plaque to mark the formal inauguration of the new secretariat

HYDERABAD: Traditional rituals are being performed with fervour and grandeur at Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, the new seat of the state’s administration, overlooking the picturesque Hussain Sagar lake here on Sunday. The ceremonies began as early as 5:50 am with vedic scholars and priests embarking on Sudarshana Yagam and Chandi Homam on the premises of the new secretariat.

Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Prashanth Reddy, who personally monitored the construction of the new edifice all through its development phase, took part in the yagams along with his wife. The Minister and his wife reached the Secretariat complex by 6:15 am and joined the rituals on behalf of the State government. The Minister and his wife also took part in the special vaastu pujas.

In all, 110 vedic scholars and ‘ruthviks’ are performing the traditional rituals including the conduct of Sudarshana Yagam and Chandi Yagam besides the special pujas to mark the inauguration of all the chambers in the new secretariat.

As per schedule, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will arrive at Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat complex at 1 pm. He will be accorded a traditional welcome with a ‘purna kumbham’ amid chanting of vedic hymns by priests and vedic scholars. After offering the ‘purnahuthi’ between 1:20 pm and 1:32 pm, KCR will unveil a plaque to mark the formal inauguration of the new secretariat.

Later, he will head to his sixth-floor office and formally assume his seat in his chamber before signing on the first file on podu lands. Following this, all the ministers will assume their seats in their respective chambers located on various floors between 1:56 pm and 2:04 pm. Later, KCR will address the secretariat employees, officials and ministers at a meeting on the secretariat premises between 2:15 pm and 2:45 pm. Special arrangements including lunch for the attendees have been extensively made. The functioning of the new secretariat will formally begin on Sunday itself.

The ministers will also sign on a few files to mark the beginning of the functioning of their respective departments from the new secretariat.
