Based on a complaint filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader K Dileep Kumar, the ECI issued a notice to Minister Jagadish Reddy, stating that the minister stated in his speech during campaigning in Munugode that if people did not vote for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate, all welfare schemes would be stopped.

The ECI had asked the minister to explain his remark by October 29,2022. In response to an EC notice, Jagadish Reddy stated on Saturday that the BJP was purposefully filing complaints with the Election Commission of India (ECI) against TRS leaders in order to obstruct their campaigning.
