The ED which was probing Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations of the company noticed that the granite export agency resorted to, a violation to an extent of Rs 4.8 crore. The company allegedly violated FEMA rules in exporting granite to China.
The ED pointed out that the Shwetha Agencies had paid only Rs 3 crore to the Government in the shape of taxes while an amount of Rs 50 crore was still pending to be paid. The ED had evidence that the company had transferred that amount elsewhere via hawala deals.
The ED raided Shwetha Agencies along with Sri Venkateshwara Granites Pvt Ltd, PSR Granites Pvt Ltd, Arvind Granites and Giriraj Shipping Agencies Pvt Ltd. in Telangana in November last year.
