HYDERABAD: In a generous gesture of support and solidarity, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders have stepped forward to offer assistance to the families of its two departed leaders.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) said, “The sudden passing of BRS leaders Sai Chand and Kusuma Jagadeesh due to heart attacks has sent shockwaves through the party and its members, leaving a void. However, in the face of adversity, the BRS has come together to provide solace and financial aid to the grieving families.

“Each family will receive a sum of ₹1.5 crore to help alleviate the immediate burdens they may face. This generous contribution has been made possible by the combined effort of about 150 party MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and Ministers who willingly agreed to donate their one-month’s salary. Their selflessness and commitment to their departed leaders has underscored the deep bonds that hold the BRS family together.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has also personally intervened to ensure the welfare of the departed leaders' families. The post of Chairman of the State Warehousing Corporation, previously held by Saichand, will now be given to his wife Rajini. His parents and sister will be given Rs 25 lakh too. Similarly, Kusuma Jagadeesh's parents too will get Rs 25 lakh.

“The leadership of the party will always stand by its party workers wherever they face difficulties. The party was built due to the hard work and sacrifices of these party workers,” KTR said.
