WARANGAL: Factional tensions within the Congress party in Warangal district have reached a new high, particularly between the supporters of MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy and Minister Konda Surekha.

The dispute erupted in Dharmaram village, Geesukonda Mandal, where tensions have been simmering since the recent assembly elections. The latest conflict arose during the Dussehra festival, when Konda Surekha’s supporters organised a flex banner in Dharmaram but excluded the image of MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy.

This exclusion led to protests from Revuri's faction. In retaliation, Konda's supporters allegedly attacked Revuri’s followers and destroyed the flex banner, according to a police complaint. Following the complaint, Geesukonda police took three individuals from Konda’s group into custody.

In response, Konda's supporters staged a protest on the Warangal-Narsampet main road, near Dharmaram, demanding the release of those arrested. The protest was called off after Geesukonda Circle Inspector Mahender assured them that the matter would be resolved.
