MAHABUBNAGAR: A farmer from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's native Mahabubnagar district attempted suicide in the District Collector’s chambers, alleging inaction by authorities against those who had illegally encroached upon his land.

The farmer, identified as Parashuramudu from Gudiddi village in Aiza mandal, tried to consume insecticide in the chambers of the Mahabubnagar District Collector. He claimed that several individuals from his village had illegally taken over five acres of his land, but authorities were not taking any action against the encroachers. Parashuramudu was immediately taken into custody by the police.

This incident follows a similar case in the Khammam district, where a farmer died by suicide after consuming a pesticide. He had alleged that authorities failed to act against certain Congress leaders close to Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, who had grabbed three acres of his land. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already ordered a probe into the Khammam incident.
