Police nab betting App operators with Rs 33.10 lakh cash in Peddapally

The accused were arrested when police found a bag with Rs 33.10 lakh in cash during a vehicle inspection in Sultanabad town.

PEDDAPALLY: The Peddapally police nabbed the operators of a betting app during a vehicle inspection in Sultanabad town, Peddapally district, on Thursday night.

Led by Sub-Inspector J Naresh, Peddapalli police intercepted a suspicious car travelling from Hyderabad towards Godavari. Inside the vehicle, police found a bag containing Rs 33.10 lakh in cash. The three occupants, identified as Nimma Dhanunjay from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, Mulkala Raj Kumar from Godavarikhani, and Abhilash from Chinnapalli, were detained and questioned.

The detained individuals allegedly admitted that the money was earned through a betting app. SHO Shravan Kumar stated that a case has been registered against them. In addition to the cash, police seized five cell phones and the car used by the suspects.
