Boiler explosion at Andhra Pradesh cement factory claims two lives, injures 20

VIJAYAWADA: Two people were killed and 20 others injured in a boiler explosion at the Ultratech Cement Factory in Budawada, NTR district, Andhra Pradesh, on Sunday. Around 22 workers were present in the factory at the time of the explosion.

The explosion resulted in Venkatesh and Arjun succumbing to their injuries during treatment in hospitals at Jaggaiahpet and Vijayawada. The condition of three other workers remains critical. The factory employs workers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured. He also ordered a comprehensive report on the accident's causes and promised action against those responsible. The Chief Minister advised officials to secure compensation for the victims' families from the factory.
