Panchayat Secretary attempts suicide in Mahabubabad over harassment complaint

MAHABUBABAD: A tragic incident unfolded in Mahabubabad district as Nagalakshmi, the Panchayat Secretary of Tatupalli village in Kuravi mandal, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide inside the Gram Panchayat office. The staff members acted quickly and rushed her to the hospital for medical attention.

Nagalakshmi, who has been serving as the Panchayat Secretary for Tatupalli, alleged that she had been facing harassment from a local resident named Donthu Yadagiri for over a year. She claimed that despite repeatedly informing senior officials about the issue, no action was taken to address her complaints.

In her suicide note addressed to the District Collector, Nagalakshmi expressed her despair, stating that she hoped her death would prompt action against those who had harassed her.
