KHAMMAM: A farmer has died by suicide in Khammam, allegedly due to financial problems and mounting debts.
The deceased, Pittala Lakshmaiah (40), was a farmer from Janakipuram village in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. He cultivated paddy, cotton, and chillies on his three-acre farm and additional leased land.
Lakshmaiah allegedly consumed pesticides at his farm due to poor yields this season, which worsened his financial troubles and led to his tragic decision.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
