KHAMMAM: Farmers in Aswaraopeta constituency of Khammam district protested and boycotted an event attended by three ministers over dissatisfaction with the government's handling of loan waivers and the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

The event, held at the Aswaraopeta palm oil factory to inaugurate a new mega watt power production unit, saw the absence of many farmers despite its focus on agricultural issues.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, addressed the gathering. However, their speeches took place without the participation of local farmers, who chose to express their discontent by not attending.

Adding to the dissatisfaction, farmers who did attend the event voiced complaints about poor arrangements, particularly regarding the food provided, questioning the organisation of the program. The event, meant to raise awareness among farmers, ended up reflecting the growing frustration in the farming community.
