HYDERABAD: The Ganesh immersion process in Hyderabad concluded peacefully, with the city completing the event three hours earlier than last year, according to Police Commissioner CV Anand.

Anand expressed gratitude to the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee and all participants for their cooperation. All major junctions and flyovers were reopened by 10:30 AM on Wednesday to ease traffic.

Although the police had planned to complete the immersion by 7 AM on Wednesday, delays occurred due to a lack of cooperation from some pandal organisers. The commissioner assured that next year, steps would be taken in advance to ensure timely completion by holding discussions with pandal organisers. Other factors that caused delays included vehicle breakdowns and electrical wires obstructing the movement of large Ganesh idols.

Over the last ten days, more than one lakh Ganesh idols were immersed in Hussain Sagar, with nearly 20,000 idols immersed on the final day. Commissioner Anand also highlighted that 25,000 personnel were deployed to manage security, including 15,000 from the city police alone.
