Govt. appoints Vem Narender Reddy as advisor to CM, Mohammad Ali Shabbir, Mallu Ravi in key posts

All four will enjoy the status of Minister of State in the State of Telangana. Santi Kumar, Chief Secretary in her separate orders said that the terms and conditions of their appointment will be issued separately.

HYDERABAD: The Government of Telangana appointed senior Congress leaders Vem Narender Reddy, Mohammad Ali Shabbir, Harkara Venugopal Rao, and Mallu Ravi, as advisors to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, to the Government and State representative in New Delhi.

All four would enjoy the status of Minister of State in the State of Telangana. Santi Kumar, Chief Secretary in her separate orders said that the terms and conditions of their appointment would be issued separately.

Vem Narender Reddy was appointed as advisor to the Government (public affairs). A close confidant of Revanth Reddy, they were friends for almost 16 years. Both had the background of TDP. Narender Reddy was MLA during 2004-2009. Revanth Reddy became MLA in 2007. It was for Vem Narender Reddy that Revanth met the then TRS nominated MLA Stephenson which led to a big political scam. They both joined the Congress at the same time.

Mohammad Ali Shabbir was appointed as advisor to the CM for SC, ST, OBC, and minority welfare. He lost the recent elections from Nizamabad. Shabbir Ali started his political career in student politics, first as part of the NSUI in the late 1970s and then the Youth Congress. Shabbir won his first Assembly poll from Kamareddy in 1989. Four years later, as part of the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government, Shabbir set up a Minorities Welfare Department, becoming the first to hold a Minorities Welfare Ministry in the country.

Mallu Ravi was appointed as the special representative of the Telangana in New Delhi. He was Mallu Ravi the Senior Vice President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. He was a Member of Parliament in the 13th Lok Sabha. He was the Andhra Pradesh State Government's special representative in Delhi.

Harkara Venugopal Rao was appointed as advisor to the Government (protocol and public relations). Venugopal Rao was the general secretary of Telangana PCC, chairman of protocol, and member of AICC. He has experience coordinating and facilitating AICC functionary’s visits to AP for a decade.
