Grand decennial celebrations of Telangana Formation Day on June 2

HYDERABAD: The state of Telangana will mark its decennial formation day with grand celebrations on June 2. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will spearhead the festivities, beginning with the release of the state's official song at the Parade Grounds.

The day's events will commence at 9:30 AM, with the Chief Minister paying floral tributes to the martyrs of Telangana at the Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park. This will be followed by the unfurling of the national flag at 10:00 AM at Parade Grounds, where CM Revanth Reddy will receive the guard of honour from the police forces and unveil the state song.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will join the Chief Minister in addressing the gathering. Awards will be presented to the best-performing police officers and contingents, and the program will conclude with a photo session of the CM and award winners.

The evening will bring vibrant celebrations to Tank Bund starting at 6:30 PM. Handloom and specialty product stalls, along with food courts featuring Telangana cuisine, will be available for attendees. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate a cultural carnival showcasing Telangana's rich culture and diverse art forms, with over 700 artists participating. A special 70-minute cultural dance performance is also scheduled.

Following the stage show, a flag walk will see around 5,000 participants carrying national flags along Tank Bund, accompanied by the full version of "Jaya Jayahe Telangana." During this walk, the CM will felicitate Telangana poet Andesri and music director M.M. Keeravani.

The celebrations will culminate with a spectacular 10-minute fireworks display over Hussain Sagar at 8:50 PM, rounding off a day of commemorative events and cultural pride.
