HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to develop Greater Hyderabad as a "Clean City" following Indore's model, known as India's cleanest city. As part of this plan, the State Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) officials will soon visit Indore to study its systems for cleanliness, resource mobilization, and agency involvement.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting at the secretariat on Friday, focusing on various developmental works under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed completion of 811 km of roadworks under the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP), which began five years ago. He ordered stern action against contractors failing to meet deadlines, with the contract period set to end this December. He instructed officials to submit a detailed report on incomplete works within 15 days, warning that false reports would result in action against the responsible officers.

The Chief Minister also emphasised the importance of garbage collection and road maintenance within GHMC limits. He urged officials to adopt modern technologies such as GIS and QR scanning for monitoring garbage collection at the household level. To ensure financial stability, GHMC was tasked with improving revenue generation and plugging gaps in income from property rents, advertisements, and hoardings.
