Harish Rao flays BJP, Congress for plans to hand over irrigation projects to KRMB

HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao criticised the Congress and the BJP for unjustly handing over projects under the Krishna River to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). He disagreed with handing over control of the projects to the board and saod that it would result in terrible injustice to Telangana.

Speaking after the BRS parliamentary party meeting on Friday, Rao claimed that the Congress Government had signed an agreement to hand over the projects to the KRMB, and that the Centre had released the related minutes. He questioned the State's authority to hand over its share of Krishna waters to the board and argued that Telangana authorities should have control over the projects.

Rao also highlighted the importance of conducting a Backward Classes (BC) census in the State, as promised by the Congress. He stated that they would bring up this issue in Parliament. Rao accused the Congress party of continuous mudslinging on the previous Government's handling of the State's finances to delay the implementation of their election promises. He emphasised the need for the Government to fulfil six guarantees before the general election or warned that people would teach the Congress a lesson.

Harish Rao criticised the Congress Government for focusing on conspiracy against the opposition instead of governing effectively. He mentioned that the election code would be in force by March 17, when the Government completes 100 days in power and took a dig at the Revanth Reddy Government for implementing only one scheme. He demanded the timely implementation of their promises.
