Harish Rao lays foundation for 100-bed hospital in Choutuppal, says KCR fulfills poll promise
Health Minister T Harish Rao, along with Minister Jagadish Reddy and MLA Prabhakar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Choutuppal at Rs. 36 crores on Tuesday
HYDERABAD: Telangana Finance and Health Minister Tanneru Harish Rao, along with Minister Jagadish Reddy and MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Choutuppal at Rs. 36 crores on Tuesday.
Stating that the government had taken up the upgradation works of Choutuppal hospital as per the promise made by the BRS during the Munugode by-elections, Harish Rao said that the people of nearby areas of Choutuppal would get better medical services by extending the 30-bed hospital into 100-bed hospital for free of cost.
Rao said that as the people were facing difficulties with limited services despite the hospital extending OP services to 300 people a day and 68 deliveries, Chief Minister KCR promised to upgrade the hospital as the MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy brought the issue to the fore.
Harish Rao launched a tirade against the BJP and central government alleging that the latter was showing step-motherly love to Telangana by stopping the funds. He said despite the AIIMS being started by the Centre in the Yadadri district, no single construction was made yet.
Recalling that the state government had established 8 medical colleges last year besides allocating 200 acres of land for the construction of AIIMS, Harish Rao said that Telangana was bringing reforms in the health sector and made clear that people were happy with services in government hospitals. He accused the BJP and the Congress of not taking any initiative to sanction a single medical college in the state.
Harish claimed that Telangana had set up 102 dialysis centers across the state and showered praises on KCR for eradicating the fluoride problem in the erstwhile Nalgonda district through the Mission Bhagiratha scheme.
