KHAMMAM: Telangana Minister for Finance and Health T Harish Rao, on Monday, said that Chief Minister KCR’s public meeting at Khammam, scheduled for January 18 would be a historic event and lakhs of people from across the State were expected to attend this meet.

“It is a matter of pride that such an important event, which will help Telangana’s own Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and KCR to change the face of Indian politics, is being held in Khammam,” he said.

He said that people from all parts of the State were being mobilised to Khammam. Harish Rao said that the event would have around 1,000 volunteers and it was being held on 100 acres. There would also be 448-acre available parking space towards both sides of the venue, the Minister informed.

“We are mobilising people and appointing in-charges in 13 constituencies. People will be flocking in in large numbers. Transport arrangements are also being done,” Harish Rao said.

He also said that only Khammam district public leaders along with other chief guests would be sitting with KCR on the stage. Other public representatives of various constituencies would be seated in special seating in front of the stage.

“The Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab will have breakfast at Pragati Bhavan with KCR and all of them will head to Yadadri in two helicopters. After that, they will inaugurate the Khammam Collectorate and head to the public meeting, scheduled from 2pm to 5pm.” T Harish Rao said.
