Nampally Court postponed the hearing on Nagarjuna’s petition, accusing Minister Konda Surekha of defamatory comments against his family.
HYDERABAD: The Nampally Court has postponed the hearing of the petition filed by actor Akkineni Nagarjuna against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha to Thursday.
Nagarjuna, along with his family members, including Nagar Chaitanya, Supriya, and Nag Sushila, appeared before the court as the proceedings began.
The court questioned Nagarjuna on the grounds for filing the petition. In his statement, Nagarjuna alleged that Minister Konda Surekha made disrespectful and defamatory remarks about his family, which tarnished their reputation. He specifically mentioned that the minister made inappropriate comments regarding his son Nagar Chaitanya’s divorce from actress Samantha, attributing it to former minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
Nagarjuna emphasised that his family has earned national recognition through the film industry, winning several prestigious awards and engaging in social service activities. He asserted that the minister's derogatory statements caused irreparable damage to their family’s honour and reputation.
Nagarjuna urged the court to take criminal action against Minister Konda Surekha for her defamatory remarks, which he believes have caused significant harm to their image in the public eye.
