HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department in Hyderabad stated on Wednesday night that heavy to very heavy rains were likely across Telangana till September 10. The surface trough formed in the Bay of Bengal would have low pressure on Thursday. The weather department alerted multiple districts in the State that there could be massive rains accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds with a speed upto 40-50 km per hour.

Hyderabad, along with parts of Telangana, received rains in the past few days as a North-South trough continued at 0.9-km above the sea level from Chhattisgarh to surrounding areas of south interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Many districts in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Nagar Kurnool districts witnessed heavy rains in the last two days.

The highest rainfall of 9.10-cm was recorded at Machabollaram of Alwal in Hyderabad followed by 8.40-cm in LB Nagar, 7.70-cm in Charminar's Dabirpura and 7.10-cm in Mailardevpally.
