Hyderabad RRR land acquisition to be completed by September: Chief Secretary

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has directed district collectors to prioritise and complete the land acquisition process for the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (HRRR) project by the second week of September. She issued the directive during a high-level review meeting on the project's progress held at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Emphasising the project's significance, Santhi Kumari stated that the HRRR is a prestigious project that is a top priority in the state. She urged officials to expedite the land acquisition process, which has been pending in various stages.

The Chief Secretary directed collectors to focus on providing fair compensation to landowners affected by the project. She instructed them to form district-level committees headed by the respective collectors to ensure that compensation is awarded based on the market value of the land. She also urged collectors to expedite court cases related to land acquisition to ensure a speedy resolution.

Senior officials, including Roads and Buildings Department Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Government Advisor Srinivas Raju, Revenue Department Chief Secretary Navin Mittal, Forest Department Additional Secretary Prashanthi, R&B Department Special Secretary Harichandan, Joint Secretary Harish, and collectors from Rangareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Yadadri, and Siddipet districts, attended the review meeting.
