IMD issues yellow alert for Telangana: Heavy rains expected

HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Telangana, warning of moderate to heavy rains over the next five days. The alert covers several districts, with thunderstorms expected in some areas.
From Thursday to Friday morning, districts including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar are likely to experience scattered thunderstorms and rain.
On Friday, heavy rains are expected in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts. The IMD also forecasts heavy rains in several parts of northern Telangana on Saturday, with some areas likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Consequently, a yellow alert has been issued for these districts.
