WANAPARTHY: The Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS-Genco) has taken up hydro power generation at the Priyadarshni Jurala Hydroelectric Project on River Krishna on Thursday with the help of heavy inflows from above particularly from Narayanpur in Karnataka.

The upper and lower power generation stations at Jurala were turned on and 12 units were generating 474 MW of power. Meanwhile, the inflows into the project reached 48,000 cusecs and outflows were 55,856 including to that of hydel power generation. Two gates of spillway were lifted and surplus water was released downstream. The reservoir was holding 9.234 TMC of water against its total capacity of 9.657 TMC.
