HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy said on Saturday that Karnataka results were going to be repeated in Telangana.

Reacting to the Congress party’s resounding victory in the neighbouring state, he asserted that the Congress would hoist its flag at the Centre in the next elections. He said that the results of the Karnataka elections would have its impact on Telangana as well as the entire country. He said that after the Jodo Yatra, the Congress was achieving consecutive victories. Revanth Reddy said that their first victory was in Himachal, followed by success in Karnataka and expressed confidence that the third victory would be in Telangana before the finals in 2024 which, he claimed, his party would win to hold power at the Centre.

Revanth Reddy said, “By defeating the BJP, we have defeated (Narendra) Modi. By defeating the JD(S), we have defeated K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). The people of Karnataka have clearly rejected the ideas of Prime Minister Modi and Telangana Chief Minister KCR who tried to prevent the Congress party from winning,” he remarked.

He said that people had rejected communal politics in Karnataka. “For the Congress party, religion is a belief but not a political issue. People have defeated Modi's leadership by defeating BJP, which promotes communal politics. Karnataka’s voters defeated Modi because they believed in the message given by Rahul Gandhi which is, ‘Nafrat Chodo’ with during his Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he commented.

Revanth Reddy said that ‘Bajrangbhali’ defeated the BJP which cheated Lord Rama. “BJP should stop trying to expand the party in the name of Sri Ram. BJP tried using Bajarangbali for its politics. Bajrangbhali does not bless those who insult Lord Rama. BJP has put all its efforts to win the Karnataka elections. Karnataka results have given us immense strength. BJP has no place in South India,” he said disdainfully.

"In Karnataka, the ranks and leaders of the Congress came together enthusiastically and faced the elections. The Kannada People have rejected the conspiracy of Narendra Modi and BJP to defeat Congress by investing pride on one side and corrupt money on the other. In Telangana too, CM KCR is trying to retain power for the third time by creating a rift between other political parties with arrogance and corrupt money," Revanth Reddy alleged.

The TPCC chief commented that there was no big difference between the BJP and the BRS. He said that KCR had always stood by Modi in Parliament. “KCR never campaigned to defeat Modi in Karnataka elections. KCR held meetings in Maharashtra but did not hold meetings in Karnataka,” he said.

He said that, as in Karnataka, Telangana also had a ‘40 percent government’. “Modi and KCR have a difference in name but not in policies. KCR accused their MLAs of taking 30 percent from Dalit Bandhu. The ORR tenders worth Rs one lakh crore were given away for just Rs 7,388 crores,” he added.

Revanth Reddy said that Karnataka rejected KCR by defeating JD(S). "The people of Karnataka rejected KCR who wanted to make the JD(S) win through conspiracies and form a government with the support of the BJP and gather his political wealth. KCR announced that Kumaraswamy, who participated in the BRS activities, be made the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

"If Kumaraswamy has to become the Chief Minister of Karnataka, there should be a hung vote in the Karnataka Assembly elections. Only then the ‘hung’ is created and the role of JD(S) will become active in the politics there. Thus, the people of Karnataka have ruined the moves of KCR," said Revanth Reddy. He predicted that Congress would come to power with a clear majority in Telangana and that people were closely watching the MIM policy.

Revanth Reddy commented that the impact of the Karnataka elections would definitely be on the upcoming Telangana elections. “Hyderabad-Karnataka region has 41 seats. Congress party has won most of these seats. The way of life and thought patterns of the people there and here are the same. So, Karnataka results will be repeated in Telangana,” he claimed.
