KCR angry over Malla Reddy's liquor party, warns leaders of backlash
KCR has expressed his displeasure over Minister Malla Reddy hosting a party which led to negative publicity
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has decided to write letters to the beneficiaries of welfare schemes seeking support for the party in the Munugode by-election. It is learnt that the TRS President has expressed anguish over the complacency of some ministers, MLAs and MLCs, appointed as incharge of the by-election campaign. The Chief Minister has also expressed his displeasure over Minister Malla Reddy hosting a liquor party which led to negative publicity.
Realizing that the BJP was looking to exploit everything to its advantage on social media and the TRS cadre not being fully awake to this misinformation campaign, TRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), on the directions of KCR, held a teleconference with the incharge leaders on Monday and gave crucial instructions to them. He reportedly asked them to avoid holding dinner events to avoid giving scope to the opposition to take advantage of them and spread false propaganda.
KCR, on the other hand, has also asked the leaders assigned with Munogode responsibilities to personally meet the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes and brief them about the development activities carried out by the Telangana Government. The village and mandal-wise beneficiaries list was also handed over to these leaders.
It is known that the TRS party has appointed leaders incharge for every hundred voters dividing the constituency into 86 units. Leaders including KTR, Harish Rao, Errabelli, Puvvada Ajay and MLAs and MLCs have been entrusted with the responsibilities. The incharge leaders, who were directed to meet the voters after Dussehra, have shown negligence and hence the TRS alerted and warned them to intensify the campaign.
The deadline for filing of nominations for the by-election will end on October 14. TRS candidate Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is expected to file his nomination on the same day accompanied by a large number of the party supporters. With BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy filing his nomination at the end of a huge rally on Monday, TRS is preparing to outsmart that with an even better show of strength.
Party sources said that working president KTR was likely to attend the event where Prabhakar Reddy will file his nomination on October 14. Accordingly, the leaders who have been appointed as unit incharge were entrusted with the task of ensuring enough presence of party workers and the general public for the nomination of Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy.
