BHUVANAGIRI: After getting rid of the anti-social forces that the erstwhile Congress Governments encouraged with an iron fist, Bhuvanagiri is now on the path of prosperity, said Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

Addressing the ‘Praja Aseervada Sabha’ in Bhuvanagiri on Monday, he said that the transformation of once a drought-prone arid zone into a lush green separate district was made possible by the BRS.

“Thanks to Kaleshawaram Lift Irrigation Project canals and Godavari water will make the district a diamond among other districts because of its close proximity to Hyderabad. The canal work is in progress and the works on Baswapur project are 90 percent completed,” he said assuring the people that he would soon return to Bhuvanagiri to inaugurate the project.

Many predicted a drop of land rates in Bhuvanagiri after the formation of Telangana. “Instead, land rates skyrocketed all over Telangana and particularly in the vicinity of the Yadadri temple,” he observed.

Seeking the blessings of the people of Bhuvanagiri the BRS Chief described the party sitting MLA and candidate for the ensuing elections P Sekhar Reddy as progressive and exuded confidence that he would win the seat with more than 50,000 votes.

“Don’t get excited, think twice and vote. While I designed and implemented the ‘Dharani’ portal to give the rightful land owners their absolute rights, Congress wants to dump it in the Bay of Bengal if it comes to power,” KCR said.

KCR cautioned them that if Dharani was scrapped the land ownership would change and the old days would return. “Now only you have the right on your land, not even a Chief Minister could change it,” the Chief Minister said.

Coming to the six guarantees of the Congress, he said that assistance to tenant farmers would open a pandora box as Tenant Farmers as the whole land management system in vogue would get disturbed. “What about the rich that rent out buildings and commercial complexes in Banjara hills? Could the tenants also get similar rights, will the owners agree to that,” he questioned.

“Farmers should think and vote, don’t hand over power to middlemen and especially the Congressmen. I am the son of a farmer and for three years I worked on the Dharani portal. If we lose this election you (the voter) will be at a loss,” KCR said.

Asking the people to reply loudly in unison, he wanted to know whether they wanted the three hours of power that Congress promised or the round-the-clock quality power that BRS had been supplying all these years.

Introducing senior leader Ponnala Lakashmaiah to Bhuvanagiri, he said that the Congress unceremoniously shunted out a very senior and respectable politician. “He joined the BRS and we welcome him. We felt bad the way the Congress has illtreated an elderly man,” KCR pointed out.

Giving a gist of the BRS manifesto that he declared on Sunday, KCR said that 93 lakh families would receive KCR Bima, fine rice along with the continuation of further enhanced welfare schemes and policies.
