KCR calls for celebrations, to launch PRLIS wet run at Narlapur on September 16

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will switch on machines marking the launch of the wet run of the prestigious Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) at Narlapur intake well on September 16. The Chief Minister will also offer special prayers at the pumphouse and address a public meeting.

Chief Minister who held a review meeting on PRLIS at the State Secretariat on Wednesday wanted the people of the command area of the project to celebrate the wet run by offering thanksgiving prayers in their local temples by doing ‘abhisheka’ to the presiding deities with the Krishna River water pumped by PRLIS.

“This is a real festival for the south Telangana region. The project is realised by the grace of God and the hard work of engineers. We have overcome several hurdles to achieve our goal, “he said. He called upon the irrigation department to complete the project in the same spirit as they completed the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).

The Chief Minister congratulated the officials of CMO and the Irrigation Department for their perseverance in completing the pertinent components of the massive lift irrigation project despite hindrances at every stage.
