KCR didn't address media acceding defeat; BRS will win only 25 seats: Revanth Reddy

KAMAREDDY: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy has expressed confidence that the Congress will form the Government in Telangana and said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will not win more than 25 seats in the Assembly elections going by the exit poll trends.
Speaking to media on Thursday, Revanth Reddy said that soon after the polling in 2014 and 2018 in Telangana, "BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) came forward and expressed confidence in his party’s victory in the State. But this time, he is aware of his defeat and stayed away from the media. Instead his son BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) was given an opportunity to save face."
The TPCC president said that be it Siddipet, Karimnagar, Mahabubanagar, Gajwel or Kamareddy, whenever KCR was aware of his defeat, he contested in different Assembly constituencies in the State and deceived the people. “On December 3, ‘Dorala Telangana’ will end. It is a special day as Srikanth Chary breathed his last for Telangana statehood. Many of them didn’t believe us. We have trust in the awareness of Telangana people. The decade-long curse of the BRS will end soon. Will KTR tender an open apology to the surveyors if their predictions are accurate and the Congress forms the Government in the State?,” Revanth Reddy asked.
Launching a scathing attack on KCR, Revanth Reddy said that the BRS president had short-sightedness on Telangana people. “We are not rulers, we are servants to people. Soon after the Congress comes to power in the State, democracy will be restored and provide an opportunity for the opposition parties to raise their voice against the Government in a transparent manner, apart from the implementation of six guarantees,” he said and added that the long-pending issues of the media would be addressed by the Congress.
Taking potshots at KTR, Revanth Reddy said that the IT Minister would leave to the United States of America (USA) if the Congress forms the Government in Telangana. On his candidature as Chief Minister from the Congress, he said as per the directions of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), a Congress Legislative Party (CLP) would be conducted shortly to take the opinions of MLAs and decide a date to announce the Chief Ministerial candidate from the party.
“I am in a special situation in the country. At a time, I am handling three positions simultaneously. The party will decide and direct me to resign for any one of the posts. Our focus is to get approval in the first cabinet meeting for the implementation of six guarantees given by the party,” Revanth Reddy said. On measures to be taken for the welfare of Telangana martyrs, he added that the party leadership would discuss with Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) founder and Prof M Kodandaram to do justice for them after forming the Government.
