HYDERABAD: Former chief minister and BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao extended Dussehra greetings to the people of Telangana.
In his message, he highlighted the festival's deeper meaning, noting that Vijayadashami symbolises the constant struggle of individuals to overcome their inner evils and move toward goodness.
KCR also spoke about the traditional practices associated with Dussehra, such as sighting the Palapitta (Indian roller bird) for good fortune, worshipping the Shami tree, and exchanging Jammi leaves, which are considered as valuable as gold, to receive blessings from elders. He emphasised that Dussehra holds a special place in the lives of the people of Telangana. By celebrating Alai Balai and fostering mutual love and respect, the festival promotes social harmony, he added.
