HYDERABAD: "Today is a black day in the history of Indian democracy," declared Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday, while referring to Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi's exclusion from the parliament.

Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Parliament is the height of Narendra Modi's arrogance and dictatorship, said Chief Minister KCR.

In an official statement, Chief Minister KCR said, "Today is a dark day in the history of Indian democracy." Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Parliament is the height of Narendra Modi's arrogance and dictatorship. It is highly unacceptable that the Modi government not only abuses constitutional institutions but also uses the highest democratic platform, Parliament, for malicious purposes. It is a highly challenging time for democracy and constitutional values".

His statement further reads, "Modi's administration overshadowed the emergency. Harassment of opposition leaders has become a routine. Modi is crumbling on his own by eliminating opposition leaders in order to protect criminals and criminals. It is not the time for squabbles between parties. All Democrats must speak out against the BJP government's abuses of democracy and constitutional values in order to protect democracy and constitutional ideals".

Democracy has a long history of constitutional values.  Modi's regime is going beyond emergencies. Harassment of opposition leaders has become routine.  Modi is bringing himself down by disqualifying opposition leaders as criminals and liars. This is not the case for conflicts between parties. All Democrats should openly condemn the misdeeds of the BJP government to protect democracy and constitutional values in the country. BJP must resist evil policies".

Telangana Minister KTR, who also denounced Rahul Gandhi's expulsion, said haste displayed in this matter is exceedingly undemocratic. He strongly condemned the incident on Twitter, claiming that disqualifying Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi is a blatant misinterpretation of the Constitution.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vindictive conspiracy and cowardice in disqualifying Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha membership." It is apparent that the PMO India blatantly protects crony capitalists and white collar criminals, without convening a JPC on the Adani scam, while shamelessly suppressing opposition and democracy," said Senior BRS Leader Sravan Dasoj.

"Revoking the membership of Rahul Gandhi Ji, despite knowing that he has a chance to appeal in the upper courts, is a blot on democracy," BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntala said on Twitter. This is a greater part of Modi Ji's objective of diverting people's attention away from his failures, corrupt friends, and suppression of the opposition."

TPCC President Revanth Reddy tweeted in support of Rahul Gandhi, "One voice, A dictator trembled. The BJP is sweating with only one voice".

"The day Rahul Gandhi ji started questioning Adani in parliament, Adani partners Modi and Amit Shah targeted Rahul Gandhi to stop his voice about Adani, they killed the democracy of India by using the judiciary," Congress Leader Dasari Seethakka tweeted in support of Rahul Gandhi. Never before have I witnessed such a low mentality in the Prime Minister and Home Minister."

"The BJP Modi Government disqualifying Rahul Gandhi as MP on the basis of a Surat court verdict of two years in prison with one month to appeal to higher courts is an act of political vendetta," Telangana Congress Leader Dr Mallu Ravi said.

"As a result of the BJP Modi government's activities, Rahul Gandhi has become a national hero," Mallu Ravi said. Since Rahul Gandhi is the only politician challenging Modi's autocratic authority, the ruling government is doing everything. We have complete faith in the courts, and Rahul Gandhi will win in the higher courts. The Indian people are well-informed and capable of defending democracy, and they will teach the BJP party a lesson in the upcoming elections", he added.
