KCR playing divisive politics by providing reservation on religious basis: Amit Shah
Amit Shah accused BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) of playing divisive politics and four per cent reservation for Muslims was part of it
HYDERABAD: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has accused BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) of playing divisive politics and four per cent reservation for Muslims was part of it.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, Amit Shah denied the allegations levelled by the Congress that communal clashes would happen if the BJP comes to power. “Anyone can verify online, there are no communal clashes where the BJP is ruling. These used to happen often during the Congress ruling States. There is no appeasement hence no one dares to create any problems. Religious clashes are totally under control and not increased as alleged,” he said.
“Is giving Muslim reservation not divisive politics? Why is Hyderabad Liberation Day not being observed whom he is fearing for? What is divisive politics?,” Amit Shah said. Replying to a question, he said that BJP and BRS could not join ideologically or there would be any political alliance. When asked why there was no action against the BRS when alleging that there was huge corruption, the Home Minister said that the Union Government was looking at those issues and it would not be done because of the election schedule. “Once the BJP Government is formed all those involved in corruption in each case will be identified and punished,” he said.
Referring to the Rohingyas issue at Hyderabad, Amit Shah said, “There is information that Rohyingans are entering Hyderabad. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been looking into it. They are vote banks for the BRS and the AIMIM but for us they are anti-national.” The upcoming Assembly elections are very important to Telangana. After a long struggle the Telangana state was formed but the ruling under the BRS took place without meeting the aspiration of the people and those who sacrificed their lives, he said and added that over 1,200 youth sacrificed their lives, while unemployed youth, farmers were the most disappointed sections in the society.
“Telangana has financially collapsed in the last 10 years. Elections will take place on November 30 and I appeal to the people of Telangana to vote for the BJP. Your vote is for not only for your MLA but for the future of Telangana and Nation,” Amit Shah said. He alleged that in the last 10 years the BRS Government was totally involved in corruption. It did nothing for Telangana. Corruption took place in Kaleshwaram, Mission Kakatiya, Miyapur lands, Outer Ring Road, Liquor and Granite. Double bed rooms , Dalit Bandhu and other schemes were given to the BRS workers more than the general public, he added.
Launching a scathing attack on KCR, Amit Shah said that the BRS president had failed to implement the promises made in the election manifestos. Be it developing a film city, pharma city, education city or textile city, all these promises remained on paper. The KCR Government even failed to implement KG to PG free education, filling of all vacant posts, unemployment allowance, loan waiver, he said and added that the corruption in Dalit Bandhu and leak of question papers by the TSPSC ruined the life of several employed youth.
“The BJP is committed to implement what it promises. We have scrapped the Triple Talaq and Article 370. We have completed Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Public will increase their trust in the parties that have fulfilled the promises made in the election manifesto,” Amit Shah said. The Telangana Government was completely surrounded with corruption and following appeasing politics. Religion-based reservations were being implemented against the constitution, he added.
“We will remove that four per cent reservation and extend it to those who deserve it. We will buy parboiled rice and offer an MSP of Rs 3,100 for rice,” Amit Shah. He also promised to reduce VAT on Petrol and Diesel and offer free travel to Ayodhya and Kasi to the old-aged persons. Taking potshots at the BRS and the Congress, the Union Home Minister said that any vote to Congress would offer power to BRS and it would prove costly.
“The BRS, the MIM and Congress are 2G, 3G and 4G parties. There is no value for others except to their family members. They will come under the same umbrella after elections are over. If you vote for BRS, it results in total corruption. Voting for the Congress will help its leaders to join the BRS. Voting for the BJP, we will live up to the expectations of Telangana martyrs. We have promised to do justice to the Madiga community and make the BC candidate as Chief Minister. We will implement what we have promised,” Amit Shah said.
The Union Home Minister said that they had given around Rs 2.5 lakh crore as grant in aid for Telangana in the last 10 years, while it was 2 lakh crore in by the UPA Government between 2004 and 2014. “We will not stop Rytu Bandhu as alleged. All the Southern States would be treated equally and we are committed to Sub Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas, for development of the old city,” he said.
