HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday announced Rs 5 crore for the renovation and restoration of 'Karnataka Sahitya Mandira' in Kachiguda of Hyderabad, with a vision of preserving the culture of people of States of India.

KCR said, “In Hyderabad, there is Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb, meaning people from all cultures, literatures and regions feel at home in Hyderabad and Telangana. The Telangana Government is striving to preserve the way of life of all people. As part of this, the Sahitya Vedika for Kannadigas will be restored.

The Chief Minister made this announcement after Amberpet MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and Karnataka residents of the State put forth the restoration request.

KCR asked officials to develop infrastructure and design the auditorium of Shaitya Mandira such that it could be used for community needs along with literary and cultural programmes.
