SIDDIPET: Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Konaipally of Nangunoor mandal of Siddipet district on Saturday. The BRS chief will be filing his nominations for both the Gajwel and Kamareddy constituencies on November 9. Minister for Finance and KCR’s nephew T Harish Rao also offered prayers at the temple.
Visiting Konaipally before any major event had been a practice for the KCR family since 1985. Later it became a sentiment for KCR and he started visiting the temple before filing nominations. He did that in 1989, 1994, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2009 elections, and he never looked back.
KCR visited and offered special prayers on April 27, 2001, when he resigned from his membership to the AP Assembly, his deputy speaker post, and TDP membership in favor of the formation of the State of Telangana. He formed the TRS party after the party paraphernalia at the feet of the lord before he formally launched the party.
