HYDERABAD: The immersion of the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati has concluded with grandeur, drawing an unprecedented number of devotees.
Tankbund and its surrounding areas were packed as thousands gathered to witness the event. Authorities made arrangements to ensure the immersion was completed around 2 pm, and the police set up extensive security to manage the crowd.
The Shobha Yatra began at 6:30 AM. A hydraulic cruise crane, equipped with a 142-foot jack, was used to lift the massive 70-foot idol for the immersion. Devotees were urged to cooperate with traffic management efforts to ease congestion around the area.
According to the committee, the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati hundi generated an income of Rs 75 lakh this year. The counting of the offerings was conducted under CCTV surveillance to ensure transparency.
