HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy on Friday assumed charge as the Telangana BJP unit president at the party State office in Nampally in Hyderabad. This is the fourth time the party had handed over the responsibility of the State unit to Kishan Reddy.

Speaking to the media at the party State office, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP would not tie up with any party and their main agenda was to dethrone K Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) Government from power in the upcoming elections. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has utterly failed on all fronts in the development of Telangana. People of Telangana are not slaves to KCR’s family. A befitting reply will be given to KCR’s family in the upcoming elections by confining them to their farm house,” Kishan Reddy alleged.

Kishan Reddy also claimed that the KCR Government didn’t have enough land and funds for the construction of houses for the poor in Telangana, but it constructed the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State secretariat on the lines of Nizam-era structure to appease a certain group of people. “The BRS has resorted to several irregularities in Telangana in the last nine years, overtaking the previous Congress regime. People will wage a war with the KCR Government under the leadership of the BJP. In Telangana, if we take one step back it is only to take 10 steps ahead,” Kishan Reddy said.

On opposition parties forming an alliance ‘INDIA’, Kishan Reddy said that even KCR, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could not defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections. “There is no clarity on the Prime Ministerial candidate from the ‘INDIA” alliance. If the alliance comes to power, every three months the Prime Minister will be replaced with another. People are aspiring for a strong leadership in the country, which can be possible only if the BJP-led NDA comes to power in the Centre,” Kishan Reddy asserted.

In his letter, Kishan Reddy demanded that the Chief Minister implement a loan waiver of Rs 1 lakh on a war footing. Moreover, the Government had to bear the additional interest burden on the farmers due to the delay in implementation of the promise from 2018.

The Union Minister also demanded that the Government identify the deserving tribals who were cultivating podu lands and handover rights to them. The other demands included compensation of Rs 3,016 per month to the unemployed youth in Telangana, allocation of double-bed room houses for all the eligible beneficiaries, providing pension and new ration cards to the eligible people, bringing NRI policy with a special fund of Rs.500 crore and a special cell should be set up in the Secretariat and immediate resolution of the issues arising out of Dharani portal, apart from providing compensation to the affected farmers
