NEW DELHI: Congress MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday dismissed the speculation that he would be leaving the Congress to join the BJP.

The MP, speaking about his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, said that the meet was only to highlight Telangana's flood situation. He said that he requested Amit Shah to conduct an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas and consider releasing of Rs 1,000 crore relief fund.

He also said that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Revanth Reddy was intentionally stoking rumours of him quitting the party. He said that he had worked for Congress for 34 years and that Revanth was defaming him.

I will never see Revanth face again

Earlier in the day, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a scathing attack on TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. He vowed to not come face-to-face with Revanth Reddy ever again in life. "Cheruku Sudhakar, who tried his best to defeat me, was brought into Congress party. I will not see Revanth Reddy's face again. I will visit Munugodu after the end of the Parliament sessions. I cannot attend the party's Chundur meeting," was how he vented out his anger over the goings-on in the party.
